Of course, you can buy it while in Istanbul or before your trip, but you will always need to buy it online. However, we always recommend to purchase it BEFORE you travel as some of the attractions included in the Pass require reservations in advance. The airport transfer and Internet connection, for example, need to be booked at least 2 business days in advance. It will save you many problems if you have everything ready before you land in Istanbul.
Common questions by travelers about Istanbul Tourist Pass
Check our list of Frequently Asked Questions below to find answers to most of your questions. In case you can’t find the answer you were looking for, feel free to contact us and we will be more than glad to help you out as soon as we can.
Can I buy the Pass when I'm in Istanbul?
Is the Pass delivered to my hotel? How do I collect it?
Istanbul Tourist Pass is a digital pass that will be delivered to you via email. Only the mobile internet device will be physically delivered to you according to your delivery preference.
Can we use the bus tour as long as the Pass is valid?
Access to the bus tour is only valid during 24 hours after you hop-on for the first time. You have 3 or 7 days (depending on your Pass) to hop-on for the first time. Sometimes we may have promotions, so make sure you check the Hop-on & Hop-off Bus Tour web page to find out if there will be any promotions or extended access during the dates you will be in Istanbul.
Which pass should I buy for my kid?
For every person that will be older than 12 years (including 12 years + 1 day) during your Istanbul trip, you should buy an adult pass. The Child pass is good for kids between 5-12 years old. Its price does not include the cost of some features as they are free of charge for them (e.g. museum admission). Buying a child pass for a kid that’s (even slightly) older than 12 years may cause unwanted delays at admissions and you may end up paying more. For kids below 5 years old, you do not have to buy a pass. This does not mean that all attractions are free for them; but this means that you would be better off paying the admission fee if it is requested so at individual attractions as only a very few attractions would charge. It is up to you to check the admission policies of individual attractions for kids younger than 5 years old.
How does the pass validity work?
Istanbul Tourist Pass has 3 options for validity: 2, 3 or 7 days. At the moment you use your pass at an attraction, your days will start counting. We count calendar days, not hours. If you start your pass on a Friday, regardless what time you started, your pass will expire on Sunday at 23:59 (11:59pm).
Do you make deliveries to Airbnb/apartments/not hotel locations?
Yes, but there has to be someone ready to pick-up at all times. We usually make shipments a few days ahead to make sure you have your package as soon as you arrive. Because delivery time is not definitive, if you request us to deliver directly to you on your arrival day, you may end up spending your valuable time in Istanbul waiting for a package. So if you are staying at a such location, we recommend that you contact your host and ask them to receive your package for you.
In case I can’t come to Istanbul, can I get my money back?
Yes, we issue refund for unused passes. Please read through our Returns & Cancellations Policy to better understand how we manage returns. For instance if you made a reservation for an attraction and you want to cancel your pass without allowing us enough time to cancel your reservation(s) and the attraction claims no-show, we may not be able to give you a full refund.
I bought a pass; but couldn’t make use of it fully. Can I get my money back?
Yes, we give you a saving guarantee. If you feel like you would be better off not buying a pass, we will be happy to calculate the regular price of all attractions & services you used and compare it to the amount you paid for Istanbul Tourist Pass. If it looks like you over-paid, we’ll refund you the difference. Savings are yours! Note that for this type of requests we charge a €10.00 fee per pass to cover delivery, transactional & operational costs.
How can I use my one way airport transfer? Can I get a return transfer?
After you buy your Istanbul Tourist Pass, you will be able to make a reservation for a one way private airport transfer. For transfers to/from Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) or the Istanbul Airport (ISL), there will be a surcharge of 20.00 per group, not per passenger. If you would like to book a second transfer with Istanbul Tourist Pass, please contact our customer support line. The price is €50.
What attractions or services are included in each Pass?
All attractions and services you can see in the What's Included? page are included in all (2, 3 and 7-days) passes, so you can decide where to go according to the validity period you bought it for.
Once you buy it, get ready to explore fully every corner of this beautiful city!
Can I visit the museums by myself?
There are only 2 ways to enter the state museums: with the museum tickets/card sold at the ticketing counters of the museums or with guided tours provided by certified tour guides. With the guided tours included in the Istanbul Tourist Pass, you don't need to pay anything additional to enter the museums and you get to skip the ticketing line. You don't need to stick to the tour if you don't want to, but you can benefit from the information provided by the guide.

After I purchase the pass, can I use it right away?

After the Pass has been created you will be able to book all your reservations and start using your magical digital pass!
What do I need to present in order to visit any attraction or claim any service?
After you booked your attractions and services, you just need to show your online digital pass at the event day and that's it!

My Pass expired yesterday and I didn’t book the airport transfer. Can I still book it?
Oops! Unfortunately for technical reasons it is not possible. You have plenty of time from the moment you purchase the Pass until it expires to make all the required reservations and use your Pass as much as you can.
